Dr. Wayne Wetzbarger has announced to Madison Regional Health System of his intention to retire from practice effective December 1, 2022. Dr. Wetzbarger, originally from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, has faithfully served the Madison community for nearly 40 years. In 1977, Dr. Wetzbarger received a degree in Biology from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Afterward, he attended the University of South Dakota School of Medicine and became a Medical Doctor in 1981. In 1982, Dr. Wetzbarger completed his internship at McKennan Hospital and began his Internal Medicine Residency program. He completed this program in 1984 and began practicing in Madison, South Dakota.
Dr. Wetzbarger deeply cared for his patients and prioritized their well-being. Dr. Wetzbarger shared, “The advice I give to my patients is to take care of yourself, get regular medical care, and see your physician routinely.”
