Respiratory Services

Respiratory care is given to those who are being tested for and have been diagnosed with cardiopulmonary disorders.

Some examples of those disorders are asthma, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, pneumonia, and other obstructive and/or restrictive lung diseases.

Respiratory care may be given to patients of all ages.

Some of the tests done by our Registered Respiratory Therapists are Pulmonary Function Testing, Cardiac Stress Testing, EKG’s, Holter Monitoring, and 30-day Event Monitoring.

Another test offered here at MRHS is a sleep study. These are done for people who have sleep disorders, such as daytime sleepiness, snoring, restless sleep, or morning headaches. It is estimated that 9 % of all males and 4% of all females have some form of sleep disorder. In addition, it is estimated that more than 40% of all Americans over 60 years of age (about 2.5 Million) may suffer from sleep apnea.

Sleep testing can be the definitive tool in the evaluation of these and other patients leading to the appropriate diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders, thus saving thousands of dollars in medical care and most importantly, restoring and saving patients lives.
