While I was born in the Southeastern part of Texas, I moved to Madison, SD, as a child. Madison is where I grew up and call my home. I feel proud to provide health care to the community I grew up in.

I am most passionate about providing acute and Emergency Medicine across the lifespan. It is fulfilling to work in a rural facility, such as Madison, with a team of people who come together and offer high-quality care to people of all ages and demographics.

Not only do I have an ambition to help others, but I have a drive to challenge myself. I immersed myself in health care early on with 4+ years of nurse aid experience and 9+ years of professional nursing exposure. However, I still wanted to provide “more” for others. While in basic training for the South Dakota Army National Guard, I was first exposed to urgent/emergency medicine. This exposure further sparked my desire to be a provider.

The advice I give to my patients is always to ask questions. To me, it is important that patients understand their healthcare and can be knowledgeable, active participants. I enjoy providing education as it helps with my growth and patient’s understanding of their disease processes.

Working as a CNP gives me a daily ‘hobby’ of ‘doing what I love.’ Medicine is stimulating and interesting. Outside work, I live a busy life with three children and two dogs. I spend most of my free time around those I love.
