In celebration of National Rural Health Day, Madison Regional Health System (MRHS) announced it has earned a 2025 Performance Leadership award for excellence in Quality. Compiled by The Chartis Center for Rural Health, the Performance Leadership Awards program recognizes top quartile performance (i.e., 75th percentile or above) among rural hospitals in Quality, Outcomes, and/or Patient Perspective.
“Quality is something we work toward every day, and earning this award again this year is a testament to the dedication of our staff,” said Teresa Mallett, CEO of Madison Regional Health System. “National Rural Health Day and its theme ‘Moving the Power of Rural Forward,’ are a perfect reminder of the impact rural hospitals have in advancing healthcare access and excellence.”
“Each MRHS employee plays a role in receiving this Performance Leadership Award. We work together to focus on safety, best practices, and patient care that is respectful and responsive to the individual needs and values of our patients, ” added Kathy Hansen, Director of Quality, Safety, and Emergency Preparedness. “This recognition reflects the ongoing quality improvement across our organization and the pride we take in serving our community.”
“The areas of quality, outcomes, and patient perspective are cornerstones of healthcare delivery across rural America, and this year’s Performance Leadership Award recipients are establishing a standard of excellence for their rural peers to follow,” said Michael Topchik, Executive Director, Chartis Center for Rural Health. “We are delighted to shine a spotlight on such strong performance and honor the achievement of these hospitals on National Rural Health Day.”
