MRHS Honored with 2024 Quality Award on National Rural Health Day

Today, Madison Regional Health System is proud to join communities across America to celebrate National Rural Health Day (NRHD). The National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health (NOSORH) and rural-focused organizations throughout the United States set aside the third Thursday of November to recognize NRHD. This annual event is an opportunity to celebrate the “Power of Rural” and honor the individuals and organizations dedicated to addressing the unique healthcare needs of nearly 61 million people living in rural America.

As part of National Rural Health Day, Madison Regional Health System, again this year, is announcing the honor of receiving the 2024 Performance Leadership Award for Excellence in Quality. Compiled by the Chartis Center for Rural Health, the Performance Leadership Awards honor top quartile performance (i.e., 75th percentile or above) among rural hospitals in Quality, Outcomes and/or Patient Perspective.

Madison Regional Health System remains dedicated to providing quality healthcare close to home, and is honored to serve the community, exemplifying the “Power of Rural.” This achievement reflects the diligence of every MRHS employee.

“Receiving a Quality Award from Chartis recognizes the contributions and dedication to excellence of all MRHS employees,” said Kathy Hansen, Director of Quality, Safety, and Emergency Preparedness. “Each one of our employees plays a pivotal role in the success of MRHS.”

“The Performance Leadership Awards capture the commitment, diligence, and innovation with which America’s rural hospitals approach the delivery of care within their communities,” said Troy Brown, Network Consultant, The Chartis Center for Rural Health. “It’s a tremendous honor to be able to recognize the efforts of this year’s award winners and celebrate their achievement as part of National Rural Health Day.”
